    There are no greater supporters of Donald Trump than the January 6th rioters. These are the men and women who fought for him and, in many cases, went to jail for him.

    Trump pardoned them, wiping the slate clean and giving them a fresh start on life.

    But they’re not happy, despite obtaining their freedom.

    They thought that they would be the winners, the ruling class, with special rights and privileges bestowed upon them by Dear Leader.

    Instead, they’re discovering the brutal truth: we all lost on November 5, 2024.

    For some of us, the realization was immediate. For others, the truth is seeping in, a kind of cognitive dissonance, as they discover that electing a dictator hasn’t made their lives easier.

    They have entered the Seven Stages of MAGA Grief.

    1. Shock – why hasn’t Trump helped us out?
    2. Denial – things are in motion, trust the plan.
    3. Anger – Trump? Fuck him!
    4. Bargaining – if we stay loyal, he will help us
    5. Guilt – did we cause this?
    6. Depression – the Deep State always wins.
    7. Acceptance – we were damn fools.

    I’ve been tracking January 6th rioters and their supporters since the riot happened. I live in DC and I took that shit personally.

    From 2021-2024, I followed the trials, watched the livestreams and monitored the nightly vigil outside the DC Jail known as Freedom Corner, becoming a scholar of the chuds, as we call MAGA fanatics. I even wrote a Chud Glossary.

    After the pardon, there was elation among the J6ers and their supporters, who expected to be rewarded with cash and retribution.

    Gleefully, they fantasized about watching military tribunals with Obama, Pelosi, Biden and others in the dock. They wanted all those “antifas” who made fun of them online to be shipped off to Gitmo. They expected to be awarded medals in a White House ceremony, along with a sizable checks for their J6 service (they fancy themselves veterans).

    Of course, that didn’t happen. Their enemies are still free and the mockery on Twitter is relentless.

    Trump is President now, so who do you blame when things go wrong? 

    J6 prisoners went from being victims of the Deep State to wondering why the Deep State hasn’t helped them out.

    The J6 “community” has been split innumerable ways. As I saw with an earlier fascist group, the 1776 Restoration Movement, cults are all about money and sex: who gets what.

    Millions of dollars were raised on behalf of J6 prisoners, money which disappeared completely into a sea of competing organizations all with the name “Patriot” in them somewhere. 

    J6ers are broke and begging for cash online, using the power of AI to create grift-worthy graphics.

    The estate of Ashli Babbitt received $5 million from the Department of Justice, which lit a fire of greed in the eyes of J6ers. They fought for Trump and lost years out of their lives. How much is that worth? Lawyers dangled the prospect of millions in payouts.

    But no money is forthcoming because Trump has pushed this country into even greater calamities, like spiraling inflation, attacks on free speech and ICE disappearing brown people.

    As for the sex, there are J6 groupies, some of whom even stalk J6ers, but the men, despite years in prison, passed on them.

    Which leads the J6ers and their simps scattered along the Seven Stages of MAGA Grief. How did it all go wrong?

    Some are stuck in Denial, holding the belief that the fault for their plight lies not with Trump but with his gatekeepers, who are keeping the truth from him. If only Stalin knew!

    Some of the J6ers recently held a rally outside the White House, fantasizing that Trump would look out his window and see their signs. “We still love Trump,” they said, as they swore their loyalty to the Dictator and begged for financial relief.

    Others are firmly in Depression, claiming that the Deep State is still in charge, spinning up new conspiracy theories (Charlie Kirk) or inadvertently stumbling upon the truth that social media has made us all crazy.

    The days tick by. Life doesn’t get easier for the J6ers, or anyone else but the super-rich. As the misery piles up, they will be pushed down the Seven Stages of MAGA Grief.

    Eventually, they will reach Acceptance, discovering what we learned a long time ago. We all lost on November 5, 2024.

    It’s just chalk, man.

    MAGA is big mad because someone wrote mean messages in chalk about Stephen Miller on a sidewalk in Arlington, VA. They want Pam Bondi to prosecute the chalk artists.

    Yup. The free speech party wants to send chalkers to jail.

    Why? Because they say the colorful messages are hateful, violent threats. What were the messages?

    Miller is preying on familes.

    Ask Katie Miller about trad-wife cosplay.

    If you tolerate this, all our children will be next.

    The messages were written in a park that they claim is a few blocks from Miller’s house in Arlington, VA.

    In the replies to the original Twitter post, I asked what were the violent threats. No one could answer me because there are no violent threats. Instead, I got personal attacks and insults from MAGA cultists addicted to online rage.

    Doxxing is Dangerous Business

    Building into an online lynch mob, they doxxed a person that they believe is responsible for the chalking, putting her name, job, and spouse on Twitter. They want her fired and prosecuted by the DOJ. They even posted a photo of what they believe is her home.

    But, since they’re terrible at this, they doxxed the wrong person, targeting someone who wasn’t even there.

    Doxxing is dangerous business. I was doxxed a couple years ago by a January 6th rioter who claimed that I had harassed Marjorie Taylor Greene. I received dozens of threats and had to lock down my social media for a while. The traitor who doxxed me was 95% sure that he had the right guy; well, he was wrong. He never apologized nor did any of the people who threatened me.

    The Freedom Corner Chalk Wars

    All of this outrage over chalk reminds me of the Freedom Corner Chalk Wars.

    Freedom Corner was a nightly vigil outside the DC Jail that during 2023/2024 advocated for the release of January 6th insurrectionists.

    To screw with them, local activists Biketifa and Anarchy Princess wrote chalk messages on the sidewalk where they did their vigil. The J6 simps got big mad about the colorful taunts written on concrete. The chalktifa, as we called it, were anti-insurrectionist messages, pentagrams that looked like demonic spells and very personal insults directed at individual Freedom Corner cult members:

    Cry more, Helena.

    Tommy was right. Sizzler isn’t a real man.

    Micki is a grifter.

    While it looks like a curse, it’s actually a Rickroll.

    They claimed it was the work of the devil or paid protesters. One of them believed that the pentagrams were being used to cast spells. The J6 supporters would attempt to erase the chalktifa by rubbing it with their feet, pouring water on it or scrubbing it with brushes. But the chalk kept reappearing, as the chuds raged into their livestreams.

    The chalktifa also appeared on the sidewalk outside the US Courthouse, where J6ers were on trial for their crimes. The J6 simps were outraged that this was allowed. Free speech be damned, they wanted people locked up.

    One afternoon, I happened to be there, taking photos of the hilarious chalk insults, when one of the chuds approached me, asking me what I thought about all this. The exchange was quite comical.

    Chalk can’t hurt you. People still have the right to free speech in this country. Trump is attempting to end the First Amendment and take away our right to dissent. He will fail. As I saw during the Freedom Corner Chalk Wars, you can’t win a battle against people armed with chalk. There will always be more chalk and more sidewalks.

    Jobs have dried up, inflation is making us poorer and the regime has destroyed our superpower status but the street art is sublime.

    Whether they’re attached to a lamp post, plastered to a wall or just printed and taped somewhere, these artworks express this country’s deep dissatisfaction with Dear Leader and his crew of masked thugs.

    Created by artists with names like Absurdly Well and Biketifa (Wilson B), as well as larger organizations and activist groups, walk around Washington, DC, and you’ll notice these colorful posters plastered to utility boxes, construction siding and poles.

    Posted in prominent locations, they are seen by thousands until eventually they’re covered up or fade away (it’s just paper and wheat paste).

    Here’s what I’ve seen on the streets of Washington, DC from Inauguration Day until the present.

    It’s a new generation of resistance.

    Gone is the naïveté of the “protest, then brunch” crowd and the belief that we could somehow shame our government into doing the right thing.

    Instead, you get calls to fight with everything we got. No more going high when they go low. You want low? We can go lower.

    “I’m tired of playing by the rules when the other side doesn’t. I want revolution.”

    That was the Jolly Good Ginger, a speaker at the FLARE Rally Against the Regime demonstration outside of Union Station on September 2, 2025.

    The crowd roared. This was an event organized by veterans – not the old hippies of Stephen Miller’s imagination.

    If the call for revolution sounds vaguely communistic, it’s because it is. With skyrocketing inflation and a system rigged against ordinary folks, people want change.

    There is no more going back to the old order. People who trusted in our system of checks and balances have been proven wrong. Merrick Garland. Hakeem Jeffries. Chuck Schumer.

    After a decade of struggling with a tyrant, finally, maybe, the Democrats are getting it. Or maybe they’re being dragged along by supporters who don’t want to cave like our elite class.

    At the FLARE rally, a Trump supporter rushed the stage and tried to interrupt the speakers. In a kinder, gentler time, maybe he would’ve been allowed to speak.

    This isn’t the tolerant left. The Trumpkin was pushed out of there to jeers and boos. We don’t have time for that nonsense.

    It is time to get in shape. It is time to run.

    The Freedom Run

    A couple days earlier, there was another rally. 

    The Freedom Run on Labor Day brought hundreds of DC-loving runners to 14th and U. This is a city of runners and they assembled to jog through the District to protest Trump’s fascist takeover of DC.

    I could hear them coming from blocks away, the chants echoing off the buildings as they ran:

    “Free DC! Free DC! Free DC!”

    The abuse of this city by masked agents of the federal government has enraged the people of Washington. Seeing your neighbors kidnapped and thrown into the back of a van has a radicalizing effect.

    Where is Everybody?

    Trump claims that the city has never been safer and that the restaurants are full.

    The opposite is true. DC hasn’t felt this empty since covid.

    There is a void. People of a shade darker than lily white are afraid to come to DC. Or if they live in DC, to go outside. Checkpoints manned by masked agents have been set up on major roads. SUVs with tinted windows prowl neighborhood streets. Helicopters loiter overhead. If your papers aren’t in order, you risk being taken away.

    Yesterday, I was at Good Stuff Eatery. A couple blocks from the Capitol and the burger place was absolutely empty. No line to order. I went upstairs and I was the only one in the dining room. At noon on a Wednesday with Congress back in session. Where is everyone?

    Turns out renditioning Latinos, scaring off foreign tourists, firing government workers and crushing the economy with tariffs is bad for business.

    The National Gardeners

    Arming the National Guard and placing them at the monuments doesn’t help tourism, either. Not that they do much. They stroll the National Mall, watch kickball and occasionally pick up trash or rake leaves.

    DC has nicknamed them the National Gardeners.

    “An infantry unit to rake? That doesn’t make any sense,” as one National Guard officer put it.

    They were ordered away from their homes for this photo-op, to please the Mad King as he moves our military around like toy soldiers.

    Coming to Your Hometown

    I still haven’t seen the masked men of ICE. They are busy up the hill from me in Mount Pleasant, kidnapping people as they go to work and take their kids to school. Last night, from a strangely deserted Logan Circle, I could see two helicopters hovering over the neighborhood.

    When they’re not brutalizing families and destroying property, ICE agents and other occupation forces like to hang out at the Wawa downtown. (Follow Amanda Moore to see what ICE gets up to after dark.)

    All of this is laughable, absurd and ruinously expensive. Trump cut billions from Medicaid to fund a private army.

    He’s beating up on DC because he can. We’re not a state.

    But if you think this isn’t coming to your town, think again. Get ready. All of that stuff about the Constitution, checks and balances, the rule of law – none of that matters if people don’t stand up for them.

  • White House Tries to Counter Sandwich Guy Sensation

    Banksy-style posters of Sandwich Guy have begun to appear in DC. Using a popular symbol of resistance, they feature a protester about to throw a Subway sandwich, inspired by the man who threw a footlong at federal agents one drunken night on U Street.

    There are several of the iconic posters in the West End, which is where ICE sent a heavily-armed convoy to arrest the sandwich guy.

    The neighborhood is known for its four-star hotels, juice bars and yoga studios. 

    Sandwich Guy offered to surrender. But the White House wanted some cosplaying media so they sent more than a dozen officers from multiple agencies with automatic weapons to the West End. And then they turned it into a Sicario-style video, as if they were conducting a raid in Fallujah, rather than rolling by Tatte to pick up a veteran in a luxury apartment building.

    How much did this pointless, unnecessary and idiotic operation cost? We’re cutting Medicaid so that ICE can make hype videos.

    It wasn’t the only example of fascist movie-making in DC this week.

    In another dumb operation, ICE filmed themselves violating the First Amendment as they tore down an anti-ICE sign in Mount Pleasant, a Latino neighborhood in DC.

    They left a dildo behind, too.

    But you don’t see that in the government video since this was too embarrassing even by debauched DHS standards.

    They are not sending their best people….

    All this Leni Riefenstahling seems to be an attempt to counter citizen videos.

    They arrested a DoorDash driver on R Street. Masked men jumped out of a vehicle and tried to grab him. Understandably, he tried to run, as you would too if masked men tried to grab you.

    You can tell that these masked men don’t have law enforcement experience because they couldn’t get a hold of him and gave one of their own officers a concussion during the process.

    All the while they were jeered by people from the neighborhood.

    The only pushback has come from locals. Mayor Bowser has been on vacation in Martha’s Vineyard; the City Council is on recess. The national Democrats? Old and weak.

    Sandwich Guy has done more than any elected official.

    That is why there are posters of him around the city.

    There’s a reunion of January 6th insurrectionists in Miami this weekend. But not everyone is invited.

    This reunion is only for “original” J6ers. The celebrity ones. The men (and it’s almost all men) whose names you would recognize. The celebrity prisoners held in the DC Jail who had their own cheering section outside the walls.

    But if you were held in some prison out west or didn’t make it to trial, you’re out!

    And like high school girls excluded from the party of the year, the remainders are big mad. They’ve been complaining in their Facebook forums and one of them even wrote (well, used AI to write) a long cry of agony about how UNFAIR it all was.

    He even created an image to illustrate his sadness:

    Who is an Official J6er?

    It’s been an issue since the pardon: who is an official J6er? Do you include the more loathsome characters, like the pedophiles? What about the drug addicts? The guys who cheated on their wives with fangirls?

    And what about the supposed antifa members and the ones who took plea deals?

    Attempts to create an official list of J6ers have fallen apart for this reason. The J6ers can’t stop feuding over clout, credit and money.

    The insurrectionists are meeting in Miami to record another version of Justice for All, which is the Star Spangled Banner with some Trump rambling in it, first performed by J6 prisoners in the DC Jail.

    Which surprised me, since no one knows where the money went from the first one; the J6ers complained that they didn’t get paid.

    But if you ask questions, you won’t be invited to the party.

    Freedom Corner Forgotten

    Also left out of the Florida funfest: the simps and stalkers, including the chuds of Freedom Corner, who held a nightly vigil outside the DC Jail for more than two years. Once the prisoners were pardoned, they were forgotten.

    Some of the chuds have managed to reinvent themselves, like Corinne Clifford, who seems too crazy for the White House Press Pool (but she’s there) and records videos of herself on the unsafe streets of Georgetown (LOL) while she casually admits to voter fraud.

    Or fan favorite, GloryBeef, who drives around DC in a minivan full of junk, filming suspicious people on the street. She recently went in search of “bad” areas of the city to show Trump.

    Seeing a group of black men coming out of a building, she said it was a flophouse. It was a church, Beef.

    Chaos Agent Uncovered

    Finally, in the category of IYKYK, She Who Shall Not Be Named revealed the truth: she was an antifa chaos agent. She was a damn good one. Almost as good as Agent Sean in Joliet, IL.

    Trump will return the statue of Confederate General Albert Pike to Washington, DC. It was toppled by Black Lives Matter protesters in 2020.

    Albert Pike wasn’t just a traitor to the Union – he was a traitor to the Confederacy, too.

    He was an insubordinate, incompetent general who rebelled against the South because he wanted to keep his own private army of Cherokees who scalped Union soldiers. Read his Wikipedia entry – it’s wild.

    After the Civil War, he managed to get a pardon from President Johnson, who sold them to former Confederates. Sound familiar?

    Pike remained a die-hard racist. After the war, he said:

    the white race, and that race alone, shall govern this country. 

    He helped to develop the rituals of the Ku Klux Klan and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry (though they disavow him now).

    In 1901, at the height of Jim Crow, a statue was erected to him amid the courthouses of Judiciary Square – a clear message to the black citizens of segregated DC.

    Times changed but, despite this, the Pike statue remained since it was on federal land. The city of Washington could do nothing about it.

    Until the night of June 19, 2020, when a crowd of Black Lives Matter demonstrators attached ropes to it and tore it down.

    The morning after, I went to see the toppled Pike, down in the dirt where he belonged. It was a celebratory atmosphere as people took selfies with the statue. The National Park Service arrived, hoisted the defaced statue on to a truck and hauled him away.

    To the graveyard of history, it seemed. But now Trump, who loves a good traitor, plans on returning Pike to his plinth. The Confederate general will be back in October.

    Chud. Hold the Lawn. Frankie Bobby, your car is on fire! Flopper. Pooping in a bucket for freedom. 500 trucks. Johnny Troy and the Hayseeds. Old-fashioned porn. Voodootifa. Anarchy Princess.

    If you’re familiar with these terms, then you remember the 1776 Restoration Movement (1776RM), the right-wing cult that occupied a block along the National Mall three years ago this month.

    Slipping into the city on July 6th, 2022, they livestreamed themselves sitting in lawn chairs for freedom. Pledging to restore a constitutional republic (something they could not define), their sedentary protest lasted less than 30 days before being driven out by online and IRL trolls, who harassed them 24/7. And the Park Police threatening to tow their cars.

    I was fascinated by this movement. I couldn’t believe how they livestreamed everything – even their crimes! It was like a Spinal Tap version of the January 6th insurrection.

    I was not alone. Their constant livestreams fueled an online industry that clipped and shared the dumbest moments from this fascist comedy of dysfunction for all the internet to enjoy.

    Soviet citizens sent to the gulag often thought it was some sort of mistake. “If only Stalin knew!” they would exclaim as they were loaded onto the train cars.

    History repeats itself in 2025 as another set of cultists cloak their disappointment by blaming staff instead of the dictator.

    After the election, January 6th rioters made lists of people that they wanted arrested – Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci, Merrick Garland, even the corrections officers that supervised them in the DC Jail.

    They expected military tribunals followed by executions. They wanted retribution.

    And they wanted compensation. They were “veterans” who fought for Trump and were entitled to not only cash, but military benefits as well.

    The $5 million awarded to the estate of Ashli Babbitt put dollar signs in their eyes. If a dead “patriot” was worth $5 million what about a live one who spent years in jail for Trump? The Proud Boys sued for $100 million for their “wrongful imprisonment” on behalf of Dear Leader.

    But, like with Stalin, he doesn’t appear to be listening. 

    So, they blame the “globalists” that surround him like Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. If only Trump knew!

    No Justice, No Checks

    Despite the promises of hack lawyers, some of them are starting to realize the truth. Everything was a lie. No justice, no checks.

    Disappointment is the thread running through the J6 community. It was almost easier to be in jail than to struggle with the messy business of real life.

    Some retain their faith in Dear Leader while others pull away or go insane.

    Remember the QAnon Shaman? The war-painted face of the January 6th riot, the tip of the spear, the embodiment of the MAGA movement deleted his Twitter account after going all-in on conspiracy theories too out there even for his fellow J6ers.

    The most prominent of the J6 groupies, Suzzanne Monk, also peaced out, pleading exhaustion at the endless demands upon her. She no longer has the time or money to keep rescuing J6ers who get in trouble. Monk penned a novel-length Twitter post about her thankless efforts and endless humility which none of you ungrateful bastards will recognize.

    Or it could be that she realizes that she won’t be getting a piece of the multi-million dollar J6 settlement, being a mere advocate and not a victim. If there is money to be got, no chance in hell a J6 rioter is going to share it with her.

    The Funeral Will be Livestreamed

    Yet, some remain loyal. If only Trump knew! Bart Shively, who was convicted of assaulting police officers on January 6th, recently passed away.

    To honor him, a GiftSendGo was set up by racist Jake Lang, who interjects himself into every newsworthy event. Funds raised will go to the family, he claims, an assertion so dubious that even his fellow J6ers were skeptical.

    The funeral will be livestreamed. Several of the chuds of Freedom Corner are planning on attending. With their cameras. Imagine the family, in their moment of private and personal grief, and suddenly a bunch of YouTubers zoom in for the shot, while thanking their viewers for the SuperChats.

    No one should be surprised. J6ers and their superfans film everything, including their own crimes, car crashes and a groupie giving birth (no link provided, you’re welcome), so why not a death, too?

    The Chuds Discover AI

    An inability to use the English language properly is a chud “tell.” If they can’t write a sentence without a dozen mistakes, then you know that they’re a Trump supporter.

    Until now.

    The chuds have discovered AI and with it, they’re using it to make coherent paragraphs out of their jumbled drivel. No more referring to someone as a “looser.” Instead, they give it a prompt like “why deport all illeagles” and ChatGPT produces a mini-essay of intolerance for them.

    I saw it myself when a barely literate J6er went from writing incoherent Facebook posts to perfectly constructed three-paragraph arguments. No typos, no misspellings and with a neat little summary at the end.

    We are in the era of AI slop now where you can’t believe anything produced by anyone anymore.

    Remember when the internet was going to make the world a better place? Instead, you have livestreamed funerals, online grifting and communications outsourced to computers.

    The problem with writing about January 6th rioters is that being a sane and productive member of society, you look at their actions through the biases of logic and decency, neither of which exist among the violent misfits that comprise the men who attacked the Capitol and the women who support them. Those who seek reasonable explanations for their post-pardon behavior are going to be frustrated and annoyed with their continued stupidity. They literally never learn, despite the universe hitting them over the head again and again.

    If I was a convicted felon who received a pardon, I’d take the opportunity to start over. Get away from politics, change my name and thank the gods for a second chance.

    But chud logic being what it is, J6ers have done the opposite of what a normal person would expect and instead have sought to monetize their grievances and relitigate the events of a day that America would prefer to forget.

    J6ers Demand Placement on Honorary Plaque

    The real heroes of January 6th were the police officers who bravely defended Congress. A plaque was created to honor them. Republicans have refused to hang it up. They won’t do this one little thing for the men and women who protected them on that dark day.

    January 6th rioters have not slunk away in shame over their behavior. Thinking that they’re the heroes, they have demanded inclusion on the plaque meant to honor the police. This is akin to putting a tribute to Hitler on the WWII Memorial.

    J6ers Harass Widow

    David Walls-Kaufman was one of the first rioters who forced his way into the Capitol. He knew the layout well – he used to work there. Walls-Kaufman hit a police officer over the head with his own baton, an injury that led to his suicide a few days later. His widow sued and was recently awarded $500,000.

    You’d think that J6ers would stay silent about a grieving widow receiving some measure of recompense for her suffering. You’d be wrong. 

    Online, they’ve said some of the most hateful things that you can imagine, claiming that the officer killed himself over the “shame of standing for treason.”

    In a brief moment of hope, I thought that J6ers and us real patriots could find things to agree upon, like prison reform. Now I see that’s impossible. They really are the worst people on the planet.

    J6 on J6 Crime

    Fortunately, they are their own worst enemy. It’s not enough for them to fight with Congress, the police, liberals, antifa, etc… They have to fight each other too.

    Goad Gatsby has an excellent writeup of the comedy that was the case of Dominic Box vs Ally Rose, a legal dustup so dumb that the judge was left asking, “Why are we here?”

    It’s a case of mean tweets, in which a J6er got stalked by one of his fans and turned to the court for relief. These J6ers love to talk about how tough they are but then run to the law when someone mentions them on Twitter.

    It’s a Cult

    There are moments when J6ers come so close to the truth.

    Trump ran on no more wars and instead stumbled his way into war with Iran.

    Most J6ers instantly discarded their “America First” beliefs to follow Dear Leader into the quagmire. We have always been at war with Eastasia!

    But some remembered Trump’s promise, resisting the call to join yet another conflict in the Middle East.

    And were attacked for it. If you didn’t support the war, you weren’t loyal to Trump. You weren’t true MAGA.

    My leader, right or wrong – wait, that’s cultish behavior, they protested, with no sense of irony.

    Suzzanne Monk, the “Captain J6” who claims credit for the J6 pardons, finds herself cast out of the cult.

    She’s so close to recognizing the truth, that MAGA is a cult. The moment you diverge from Trump, you become a hated apostate.

    But she won’t get there. None of them will because that would require a few seconds of thought.

    January 6th rioters and their supporters dwell in the realm of chud logic, where Trump is infallible and they are his special children who can do no wrong.
