I’m a writer, web site manager and occasional photographer from Washington, DC.
Despite somehow acquiring a great deal of expertise in web site management and marketing, I still consider myself first and foremost a writer. I’ve written articles, short stories, screenplays, white papers, ad copy, brochures, email newsletters, blogs, a novel, etc… I’m just one of those people who enjoys playing with words.
In 2006, I won the Film DC Screenplay Competition for my script “Mount Pleasant.” It’s an urban drama about a gentrifying Washington, DC. The prize was a trip out to LA (okay, Burbank), to see the final season of “The West Wing” being filmed. I had the chance to sit in on the final writers’ room meeting of the show, which was an education.
In my role as web site manager, I’m part of a great team that’s responsible for NOAA Ocean Explorer. Our site chronicles government-funded deep sea exploration with daily logs, essays, images and videos. We received an Honorable Mention in the Webby Awards for Science and Education.
I got into photography a few years ago. Like many web people, the ease of use of digital cameras was what attracted me to this hobby. I primarily take pictures just for fun though my photos have been used on a couple of other web sites.
That’s me. Well, at least the public side of me
