The problem with writing about January 6th rioters is that being a sane and productive member of society, you look at their actions through the biases of logic and decency, neither of which exist among the violent misfits that comprise the men who attacked the Capitol and the women who support them. Those who seek reasonable explanations for their post-pardon behavior are going to be frustrated and annoyed with their continued stupidity. They literally never learn, despite the universe hitting them over the head again and again.
If I was a convicted felon who received a pardon, I’d take the opportunity to start over. Get away from politics, change my name and thank the gods for a second chance.
But chud logic being what it is, J6ers have done the opposite of what a normal person would expect and instead have sought to monetize their grievances and relitigate the events of a day that America would prefer to forget.
J6ers Demand Placement on Honorary Plaque
The real heroes of January 6th were the police officers who bravely defended Congress. A plaque was created to honor them. Republicans have refused to hang it up. They won’t do this one little thing for the men and women who protected them on that dark day.
January 6th rioters have not slunk away in shame over their behavior. Thinking that they’re the heroes, they have demanded inclusion on the plaque meant to honor the police. This is akin to putting a tribute to Hitler on the WWII Memorial.
J6ers Harass Widow
David Walls-Kaufman was one of the first rioters who forced his way into the Capitol. He knew the layout well – he used to work there. Walls-Kaufman hit a police officer over the head with his own baton, an injury that led to his suicide a few days later. His widow sued and was recently awarded $500,000.
You’d think that J6ers would stay silent about a grieving widow receiving some measure of recompense for her suffering. You’d be wrong.
Online, they’ve said some of the most hateful things that you can imagine, claiming that the officer killed himself over the “shame of standing for treason.”
In a brief moment of hope, I thought that J6ers and us real patriots could find things to agree upon, like prison reform. Now I see that’s impossible. They really are the worst people on the planet.
J6 on J6 Crime
Fortunately, they are their own worst enemy. It’s not enough for them to fight with Congress, the police, liberals, antifa, etc… They have to fight each other too.
Goad Gatsby has an excellent writeup of the comedy that was the case of Dominic Box vs Ally Rose, a legal dustup so dumb that the judge was left asking, “Why are we here?”
It’s a case of mean tweets, in which a J6er got stalked by one of his fans and turned to the court for relief. These J6ers love to talk about how tough they are but then run to the law when someone mentions them on Twitter.
It’s a Cult
There are moments when J6ers come so close to the truth.
Trump ran on no more wars and instead stumbled his way into war with Iran.
Most J6ers instantly discarded their “America First” beliefs to follow Dear Leader into the quagmire. We have always been at war with Eastasia!
But some remembered Trump’s promise, resisting the call to join yet another conflict in the Middle East.
And were attacked for it. If you didn’t support the war, you weren’t loyal to Trump. You weren’t true MAGA.
My leader, right or wrong – wait, that’s cultish behavior, they protested, with no sense of irony.
Suzzanne Monk, the “Captain J6” who claims credit for the J6 pardons, finds herself cast out of the cult.
She’s so close to recognizing the truth, that MAGA is a cult. The moment you diverge from Trump, you become a hated apostate.
But she won’t get there. None of them will because that would require a few seconds of thought.
January 6th rioters and their supporters dwell in the realm of chud logic, where Trump is infallible and they are his special children who can do no wrong.
